The fastest way to grow in Chill Capy is to do a little of everything every day. Claim the daily reward, finish the three daily quests, play a mini-game or two, and keep your capybara fed and clean. Fresh Grass is the best-value snack, Steam Says pays the most coins per game if you’re good at memory games, and playdates with friends add daily coins that grow as your friendship does.
The numbers below come from the current version of the game (September 2026) and may shift in updates.
What you start with #
After you name him, your capybara hatches with his signature yuzu hat, 120 coins, 5 gems, three Fresh Grass and one Watermelon Wedge. That’s enough to feed him for the first day and buy a cheap cosmetic, but don’t spend it all on hats before you know the snack prices.
How leveling works #
Every care action gives XP. Levels go up to 50, and your capybara’s title changes as he grows:

New animals also move into his hot spring as you level: a bird at level 3, a turtle at 6, a duck at 9 and a frog at 13. They can’t be bought, so leveling is the only way to see them.

12 tips for new players #
1. Claim the daily reward every day #
The reward calendar runs for seven days: 40 coins, 60 coins, two Watermelon Wedges, 90 coins, 2 gems, a Grass Roll, then 5 gems on day seven. Miss a day and it rewinds to day one, so a ten-second check-in protects the gem days. After you claim, you can watch an optional rewarded ad to double it.
2. Do all three daily quests #
You get three quests a day, picked from a pool of ten, and everyone gets the same three on the same day. Most are things you’d do anyway, like serving three snacks, giving a bath or playing two mini-games. “Share a Capy card” pays the most, at 60 coins plus a gem.
3. Buy Fresh Grass for everyday meals #
Fresh Grass costs 10 coins and fills 14 food. That’s the most food per coin of the eight snacks, and also the most XP per coin. Save pricier snacks for when you want extra fun or a big refill in one tap.

4. Don’t feed a full capybara #
He refuses food once he’s completely full, and a bath does nothing if he’s already squeaky clean. Check the meters first so you don’t waste a tap or a snack.
5. Bathe when clean gets low, and soak for mood #
A bath fills the clean meter completely. A soak is different. It adds some fun and a little cleanliness, and it boosts his mood for ten minutes. Soaks are free, so use one whenever his mood could use a lift. You can’t soak while he’s asleep.
6. Pick the mini-game that suits you #
Every game costs 10 energy and gives 12 XP and a boost to fun. Coin payouts are capped per round:
- Yuzu Drop pays about 1.4 coins per yuzu, up to 90.
- Bubble Pop pays about 1.1 coins per bubble, up to 80.
- Steam Says pays 9 coins per round you survive, up to 100.
If you have a good memory, Steam Says is the best earner. Reaching round 11 or so gets you close to the cap, and reaching round 8 once earns you the Steam Scholar achievement for 150 coins.
7. Put him to bed before you go to bed #
Sleep restores energy quickly while you’re away, and mini-games can’t be played while he’s asleep. Tuck him in at night, wake him in the morning, and you’ll have a full energy bar for games. If you run out of energy mid-session, an optional “sun nap” rewarded ad refills it.
8. Pet him ten times a day #
Petting gives 1 XP each time, up to 10 XP a day. It takes a few seconds, he squeaks, and one of the daily quests sometimes asks for it anyway.
9. Protect your streak with a freeze #
Your streak goes up each day you open the app. If you miss exactly one day, a streak freeze (10 gems in the shop) saves it. Miss two days in a row and it resets to one. Streaks earn achievements at 3, 7 and 30 days, including 25 gems for the 30-day one.
10. Set up playdates with friends #
Scan a friend’s QR code, or paste their Capy Code, and your capybaras soak together. Each friend pays coins once a day, starting at 30 and rising by 10 with each heart of friendship, up to five hearts. Your first playdate also earns an 80-coin achievement. 11. Save coins for seasonal events #
Four events run automatically from your phone’s date: Sakura Soak (March 20 to April 30), Summer Splash (July and August), Spooky Springs (October) and the Yuzu Festival (December 1 to January 7). During events, coin earnings get a 10% bonus, and limited items like the Pumpkin Cap, Santa Hat and Sakura Sprig can only be bought while the event is on.
12. Let achievements pay you #
There are about 30 achievements, and they pay out the moment you earn them, with no claim button. Easy early ones include owning five cosmetics (120 coins), owning three decorations (120 coins) and reading ten daily capybara facts (100 coins).
Should you pay for Chill Club? #
You don’t need to. Everything above works without spending money. Chill Club is the optional subscription, with monthly, annual (7-day free trial) and one-time lifetime options. It removes interstitial ads and adds 3 gems a day, 1.5x coins, streak protection, a reward calendar that never resets, and two members-only items. It makes the most sense if you play daily and the occasional ad after every third mini-game bothers you.

What’s the fastest way to level up in Chill Capy? #
Play mini-games (12 XP each), finish daily quests, bathe and soak regularly, and pet him ten times a day. Playdates add 10 XP per friend per day. Doing all of these daily adds up much faster than grinding one of them.
How do you get gems in Chill Capy for free? #
Gems come from the day-five and day-seven daily rewards, some achievements, the “share a card” quest, and an optional rewarded ad once a day. Chill Club members also get 3 gems daily.
Why can’t I play a mini-game? #
Either he’s asleep or his energy is below 10. Wake him up, or let him sleep to recharge. You can also use the optional sun-nap ad for an instant refill.
What happens to my streak if I miss a day? #
If you miss exactly one day and own a streak freeze, the freeze is used automatically and your streak continues. Without a freeze, or after missing more than one day, the streak starts again at one. Chill Club includes streak protection.
